For the first 10 years of his career, Frank Fiore gained experience in the financial world on Wall Street working at Nomura Securities, Lehman Brothers, and Morgan Stanley. During this time, he learned to appreciate the balance between the services needed by front office production units and the support needed from operations teams. He has managed this balance successfully over the years which has aided the progression of his career. In fact, he made the rise to officer level at Lehman Brothers and Morgan Stanley within his first year at each firm.

In 1998, Frank had a unique opportunity to join a growing independent mortgage broker based out of Long Island, New York. Over the next 15 years, serving as the COO, Frank successfully initiated and completed the migration of the firm to mortgage banker, handling all facets of the operational process. He filled multiple roles, such as CFO and Head of Secondary, which were created and then turned over to others as the company grew. Frank also managed multiple projects including building a proprietary pipeline management system, and managed the company’s conversion to the Encompass Loan Origination System.

In 2010, Frank created matchbox LLC, a consulting and advisory firm focusing on mortgage banking operations in two areas: improvement in the use of technology and the understanding of the secondary markets. matchbox was created to be a consulting and advisory firm that would not just advise companies but work with them in implementing improvements on the operational side that resulted in increased profitability. Since its inception, matchbox has worked on over 500 successful engagements and assisted many companies in achieving their goals. Comprised of former clients, the matchbox team has extensive knowledge of the Encompass Loan Origination System and employs a strategy that models technology to support its clients’ business models. matchbox employs a staff of experienced mortgage bankers that are as passionate about serving clients and delivering results.

Frank is a graduate of Saint John’s University and the Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders program. He is a member of both the Secondary and Capital Markets and Residential Technology Forum committees within the Mortgage Bankers Association.  With Frank’s leadership, matchbox was selected for the MPA Hot 100 in 2017.  He would be the first to tell you that he would not be here without the support of his wife Claudine and his four children. When not growing matchbox, Frank participates (not to be confused with competes) in triathlons, and enjoys going to Dave Matthews Band concerts.
